Dr. Miranne was born and raised in the New Orleans area.  He attended high school and received his high school degree at Ecole Classique in New Orleans.  He then received his Bachelor of Science degree at LSU in Baton Rouge.  He then attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans, where he received his medical degree.  He then did his surgical internship affiliated with LSU Department of Surgery at Charity Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans.  Dr. Miranne then moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he did his residency in neurosurgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, rotating at several hospitals in the Nashville area.  Those hospitals were the Vanderbilt University Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville VA Hospital, and Baptist Hospital in Nashville where he did six months of special training in posterior fossa surgery, with an emphasis on the microsurgical resection of acoustic neuromas.

Dr. Miranne is a diplomate in the American Board of Neurological Surgery, certified in 1992.  He is also a fellow in the American College of Surgeons.  He is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, The Vanderbilt Neurosurgical Society, Louisiana Neurosurgical and Southern Neurosurgical Societies, and the Louisiana and Jefferson Parish Medical Societies.

Following his training, Dr. Miranne moved back to Metairie, and has been practicing at East Jefferson General Hospital since 1989.  Dr. Miranne is married and has 2 children who have also grown up in the New Orleans area.  Dr. Miranne’s hobbies are hunting and fishing, and he has an avid interest in athletics which has fueled his interest in sports medicine.  His other neurosurgical interests include treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine with and without instrumentation.  He also has special interests in pituitary surgery and posterior fossa surgery for tumors, especially microsurgical resection of acoustic neuromas.  He also has expertise in surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
